Spectrum Health Lakeland has a summer internship called the GROWTH (Guided Real-World Orientation and Work Training at the Hospital) program, aimed at addressing the shortage of African American and Latinx students pursuing healthcare.
The GROWTH internship program will launch on Monday, June 17 and responds to the shortage of African American and Hispanic/Latinx associates (team members) in clinical and other hospital staffing by creating a career pipeline between Benton Harbor area youth and Spectrum Health Lakeland. The program will offer an inclusive culture of love and respect while helping students develop a diverse set of skills for the workforce. The program includes a combination of guided real-world experience and work training at the hospital.
