Mitzi Thompkins

Mitzi Tompkins is a retired school counselor (St. Joseph Public Schools) with a lifelong commitment to supporting young people. Throughout her career, she worked closely with teenagers, with a particular passion for advocating for students who are at risk or marginalized. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Michigan State University and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Western Michigan University. She and her husband Dave have instilled a love of Michigan in their three sons and six grandchildren and relish spending time outdoors together. In addition to her service on the school board, she volunteers as a CASA advocate for foster children, and is a Life Coach. In her free time, Mitzi enjoys running, walking, and reading.
